World Could Change for Worse. 2012?

Simply put, we can’t keep preparing students for a world that doesn’t exist. We can’t keep ignoring the formidable cognitive skills they’re developing on their own. And above all, we must stop disparaging digital prowess just because some of us over 40 don’t happen to possess it. An institutional grudge match with the young can sabotage an entire culture. Is technology really helping us? yes i understand that it is growing everyday, but i also fear that if we are not careful and rely on it with absolutely everything that we do in our lives that one day if something was to happen and we were reverted back to no power, no fuel, no iphones we might not be able to hold our own anymore. Teaching our children the importance of technology and how to use it is very important yes, but i just feel we need to be careful about how we do it.

  1. I agree with you 100% that technology is growing everyday, and that we rely on it to much. I know that with every job that is out there now if you don't know anything about computers or even how to turn one on just forget about it. If my grandma had to go out and get a job she would never be able to hold one, for the simple fact she doesn't know anything about any type of technology. Technology will crash one day and how we we as a society handle it?
