Less Work=More Work

Educators face enormous challenges in preparing their students to be critical online readers. For the most part, the teaching of critical-thinking skills is not part of the regular curriculum, and printed text is still considered the mainstay of school reading. Moreover, many recent studies identify persistent barriers to integrating new technologies into instruction, including lack of training and help for teachers and insufficient access to functioning technology (Cuban, 2002; Zhao & Frank, 2003). My thoughts: Benefits from teaching with a more technological view i feel can and will ultimately make gets actually take the time to work and study. We all know how much students like to read out of text books and how much they love spending their parents hard earned cash to buy the 300 dollar books. If more school would buckle down on doing more computer web based assignments in and out of the class it would also help the students from using the excuse "the library is to far, or i dont have time to sit there all night" if the class had an web bases option such as a blog then the students could do everything from the comfort of their home if they so choose.
